BORASSUS AETHIOPUM IN GHANA

Borassus aethiopum (African fan palm) is widespread and common across sub-Saharan Africa where it is a well known and conspicuous component of palm savannas.

The palm is used by local communities in Ghana to cure various diseases and disorders:

Malaria Root Roots are boiled in water for 1 h. The decoction stays effective for two days. Drunk A cupful of 300 ml divided in three doses:
morning, afternoon - for one day
Brong-Ahafo Sissala
Toothache Root Roots are boiled in water with a little salt. The decoction is gargled and spit out. Three times a day for several
days 
Brong-Ahafo Akan
